Remote Proctoring's Evolution

  1. Before covid-19

Many new technologies and tools were under development before COVID-19. We had seen the rise of screen monitoring programs, remote proctoring - where someone is sitting a distance away and watching you take a test, and AI-powered proctoring, where software was being used in monitoring tests. These were setting up a stage for further advanced remote solutions.

  2. During the covid pandemic

When everything went online during the pandemic, there was an absolute surge in the working-on-websites-and-apps population. Students did online classes and exams, and then video interviews for jobs followed that trend. The necessity thus arose for a more-than-reliable and flexible type of remote proctoring technology to ensure that remote assessments are conducted securely online.

  3. After covid-19

There have been permanent changes brought forth by the COVID pandemic. For instance, the GMAT is an online exam only now. Hybrid learning models are expected to permanently be part of learning also, integrating the online as well as the physical environment to give greater flexibility.

  4. Future of remote recruitment

In the current scenario, AI-driven proctoring tools play an immense role. The new methods of testing and proctoring will become the future normal, making the remote recruitment process efficient and effective.
